Dec 14th, Marie

story-18-PAGE-3976

After Marie had been rescued from the sea, she was taken to the nearest hospital to be checked of her physical and mental faculties. So there was salvation, after all. Not the kind you were taught to usually think of, but it existed. Marie was utterly disappointed.
Immersed in thought completely, she let herself be examined by unknown people who were looking for signs of damage to her body system. Nothing to be found. Although she had drowned for minutes, Marie’s body was in perfect condition. Her mind state, however, couldn’t be put in the same category.
Marie looked normal. Just fine. She talked and had conversations normally. But if you stared into her eyes you could see she was elsewhere. And this was extremely unconvincing.
She had the glimpse of a constant attempted suicide.
